Dreaming of a pouffe for Christmas ?
I know there are many people who can’t afford a large bean bag for Christmas who are considering getting a pouffe instead.
So why would a person decide to choose a pouffe instead. Well one of the main reasons could be space. Pouffes take up very little room indeed and can be fitted into just about any room.
They are perfect as seats for children either in a bedroom , kitchen or sitting room. Kids can also easily transfer them from A to B so if they have friends around they can set up their own little tea party in whichever room they wish.
We have quite a few customers who use the pouffes as seats instead of chairs. They place them around a table and kids find them incredibly comfortable.
The price point for a pouffe is much more manageable for some people. Pouffes aren’t solely for kids either. A lot of the orders we receive are from adults who want to use them as footstools or footrests as they are also known.
Putting your feet up on these footrests is a great way of relaxing when you get home from a long day at the office.

Here are some interesting tips for how to make your own dog bed. The 1st thing you have to do is to get your dog to lie down so you can measure him/her correctly. Then you need to get your dog bed tools and materials at the ready. You will need a bottom for the bed as well as the bedding you need for the dog bed.
You should be able to pick up what you need for under 40 quid. You will need a tape measure and sewing machine as well to measure the exact size of the material that you need. Gte ahold of your scissors and mark down the measurements.
The just start cutting away and the fabric should come away really easily. Put it to one side and start on the next section so you can measure that up as well. You dont have to be perfectly accurate as you can improve on your cut when you start using the sewing machine.
Now you need to measure and cut your dog batting. When you are cutting your batting you need to ensue it is 2 inches smaller. Make sure you give one inch on either side.
I will continue this post tomorrow on how to complete your dog bed.

Here is an interesting thread written by a bunch of work at home Mums who are looking for advice on how to make bean bags at home.
This is quite a long thread so I will probably continue it tomorrow.
I arrived at this forum with bean bag questions as well… my question is what is best to stuff them?
I was originally thinking about beans or lentils. The only issue I have with this though is that I want to be able to wash them in a machine.
Ideally I want to be able to get my hands on something cheap to use as the filling for the bean bags . Anyone who’s done this before please let me know.
I was thinking of doing some really small rectangles as well as some larger rectangles as wel as circles
I’ve had super luck stuffing them with much smaller beans as well as peas. I’ve also tried rice as well. I have tried larger beans as well and they work but they arent perfect. I prefer the feel of the smaller ones though. I am fairly sure you can’t real bean bags that are stuffed with real beans. My children my kids have drenched them with water before yet I did manage to dry them in the sun.
The sort of fabric I have used are denim, canvas, regular old cotton, flannel, and corduroy to name but a few. They’re so much fun, and my kids are just mad about them especially my 3 year old son.
If you don’t fancy making them at home then you could always get a bean bag from the www.fatboybeanbags.ie store

As we all know one of the best selling products in the run up to Christmas is video games especially Playstations and Nintendo WIIS.
One of the problems I have always had is wondering where to sit when playing these games as it is critical to get really comfortable especially if you are going to be playing the game for a few hours continuously.
Walmart have introduced a gaming bean bag. Of a total of 104 reviews for this product there were 59 5 star reviews, 36 4 star reviews, 7 3 star reviews, 1 2 star review and 1 1 star review.
So overall this bean bag chair has surpassed all expectations.
Here is just what a couple of people said
I’m 6′4″, and this bean bag fits me perfectly. I find most bean bags uncomfortable, but this bean bag is the business … it’s really light, and durable, and best of all it is as cheap as chips. You can’t go wrong with it.
Before I buy any product from anywhere I always look @ the reviews and so far they have bee spot on the money. The over-all ratings for the bean bag were excellent so I bought one for my 17 year daughter, who’s about 5′9.
I have to agree, for a bigger teenager it could be conssidered on the small side and the back rest could have a little more stuffing (they were saving on that) but it appears to be well thought out (time will tell) and I think it looks pretty good. My daughter has used it for a few days and it’s holding up and she is thrilled with it.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/allReviews.do?product_id=5691343
So here we have two great reviews for the bean bags. The only downside I can see is that they are great for playing games but not that practical for lounging around on. Getting a fatboy bean bag will cover you from every angle possible

What Greyhounds Do In Dog Beds
If you want to see some brilliant dog videos then you need to zip on over to this site
http://www.maniacworld.com/what-greyhounds-do-in-bed.html
This particular video is certainly different as the greyhound who makes an appearance in it goes absolutely ballistic whilst on the bed.
He does what seems to be 100 spins non stop whilst on the bed which I am assuming he thinks is his own dog bed. I get really dizzy just looking at it.
I would love to have seen what happenned afterwards as I am sure when the greyhound got off his dog bed the would have been really dizzy and would probably have lost all sense of bearings and would have walked into a wall or done something equally daft.
Apparently the greyhound in question is a retired racing dog and it would be fair to say that he has quite a bit of race left in him yet. Where he manages to get his energy at his age is beyond me.
What amazes me is that with all the spins he was doing he didnt create any mess at all on the bed.If you were to have a couple of kids spinning on bed the one thing you are guaranteed is that the bed would be a bombsite within a minute or two.

About a week ago we decided we wanted to give our FatboyBean Bags site more exposure so we decided to take a big risk and get the site included in yahoo.com, business.com and Best Of The Web botw.org.
Now there is quite a hefty price tag for these with the yahoo and business.com submissions costing in excess of $299 each. Best Of The Web cost $97 by itself.
These are great directories to be listed in but sometimes the approval process can take in excess of a week. I had to
contact business.com to find out where they had listed the site as I just couldn’t find it for the earth of me when I went digging.
So here are the 2 spots where the listings are appearing in business.com and botw.otg
http://botw.org/top/Regional/Europe/UK/Ireland/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Furniture/
My only complaint with botw.org is that they changed the title from Fatboy Bean Bags to Fatboy. So there is a strong
likelihood that if anyone does stumble across the site they may leave when they see the results.
If the see the word Fatboy they might well ignore the listing unless they are familiar with the Fatboy brand. I am still
waiting to hear back from Yahoo as to where the site is located. I will write another post on that in a few days when I have confirmation.

I used to do this when I was a kid and it was great fun. It normally always ends in tears especially if you take a shot flush on the cheek from one of thos bean bags with a lot of heavily packed beans in it. It isnt so bad when these bean bags are packed more loosely.
The two kids obviously do this on a regular basis. Their aims definitely need to be improved. The brother and sister seem to get on pretty well throughout the whole bean bag fight.
As for the babysitter who I believe who is their cousin this isnt the first time she has done it.
I suppose if you are baby sitting it does help relieve the boredom of looking after two young kids and then uploading it to youtube.
Also kids love looking at things on video when it is played back to them. They also probably contacted all their friends to check out their video on youtube and leave lots of comments. I presume this creates a viral effect as well with more kids uploading their videos and leaving additional comments.

I have 2 girls who are 5 and 6 and they seem to spend most of their day when they come home from school jumping from the couch onto our bean bags.
They regularly do back flips onto the bean bag. Even when my Mum was over teh other night they wanted to show off their bean bag skills which entailed running from the kitchen into the sitting room and launching themselves onto the bean bag.
My Mum got a bit of a fright as the bean bag continued towards the TV and she was convinced that my youngest was really going to hurt herself.
Looking at the video here with connor and Luke the stuff they are doing although not difficult would be far too hard for my 6 and 5 year old although that hasnt stopped them in the past.
The other one they really like doing is climbing up onto my shoulder as I tip them over my shoulder onto the bean bag. They continue to do this for 10 minutes and by the end of it I am completetly exhausted.

Bears At It Again In A Hammock
I posted a video a while back of a bear hopping into a hammock. Well in this video it goes a step further where the mother and baby get into the hammock.
The quality of the video isnt great as it was made in 1998. It seems like the Japanese tourists who are filming it are having the times of their lives. They sound incredibly excited and were probably on their 1st trip to the US
What is extraordinary is the fact the the bears know the way to use it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kekVAwH-nVg
The little bear sure knows how to persevere and is trying to get into it any which way he can.
The old adage “If at first you dont succeed, try try again” springs to mind. However at the end of the day both bears learned a lesson they probably wont forget in rush when they both fell out onto the ground from the hammock.
I expect their pride was wounded more than any pain they would have sufffered from the fall out of the hammock.

This is one dog who refuses to put up with his feline friend stealing his dog bed, I dont blame him.
The cat is just teasing the living daylights out of him. The dog is trying to drag his dog bed around the sitting room with the cat lying in comfort on the dog bed whilst totally ignoring the dogs pleas to give the bed back.
The dog in question would really want to be quite careful as the cat wouldnt think twice about scratching him in the eyes.
Here is what a few other people had to say who saw the video
LOL
I imagine the cat having an “I’m gonna lie? here and there’s nothin’ you can do about it” type of attitude.
Love? this! Reminds me of what my puppy who looks like the one in this tape used to do to my youngest cat. Animals RULE!
The cat is just here chillin? lol and even after the dog gets the cat to leave…it seems like the dog wants to kick its butt lol
If I was the owner I would save myself a ton of grief and get the cat its own dog bed or should that be a cat bed.
